Division and Ring Assignments

  • Doors Open — Registration and check-in starting time: 9:00 am
  • Tournament begins: 10:30 am
  • Matted competition surface
  • Adult Black Belt and Masters Competition will be held when all other divisions are finished.
  • Due to the nature of combat sports, divisions will be divided by biological sex at birth.
  • Divisions may be combined or separated depending on the number of competitors.
  • Adult divisions will be subdivided by age: 18-34, 35-49, and 50+
  • Team Competition - Special Adult Black Belt Team Point Fighting Competition will be held after all other events. Team competitors will be picked by coaches on the day of the event.
  • Weapons Divisions for Advanced, Black Belt, and Masters Divisions only. Age groups for weapons are 10 and under, 11-14, 15-17, and Adults. (Weapons divisions will be held after forms and point fighting for all groups.)

Tournament Rules

Traditional uniforms are required to compete.

Competitors must be in uniform and ready to compete at their ring's scheduled time.

FORMS (Patterns)

Only traditional forms will be permitted.
No Chil Sung/Yuk Ro or demonstration forms will be allowed.

WEAPON FORMS

Advanced, Black Belts, and Masters Only

Must be “live” or “real” weapons. No light demonstration-style weapons. (Exceptions will be made for the 12 and under divisions.)

POINT FIGHTING

Children: three points - two minutes. Adults/teenagers: five points - two minutes using a 3-point spread rule. Adult Black Belt Matches will be two minutes with a total accumulation of points using a 5-point spread rule. All hand & foot techniques - one point. No techniques to the back or back of the head. Punching techniques using the fore-fist and back fist (no leaping back fist), no grabbing or other hand techniques allowed. No excessive contact or technique below the belt.

*Equipment: Mouthguard, headgear, and foam foot and hand guards required. (Headgear will be provided for those without.)
